Martin Drysdale

Pastoral and Preaching

By the grace of God, Martin grew up in a Christian home and was converted around the age of 21.

In 2002 he set out to grow in his faith by studying at the Bible Institute of South Africa (in Kalk Bay), whereupon he felt the call to ministry. Confirmed in this calling by the local church, he served first as a ministerial intern, then as an assistant pastor, before accepting a call to Goodwood Baptist Church in 2014 to commence ministry among us.

Martin is married to Rochelle, and together they have two daughters – Rebekah and Léah.

Winton Gibbs

Finance, discipleship and small groups

Winton has been follower of Jesus Christ since his early teens, having had the privilege of a godly heritage and gospel influences since childhood. He has been a member of the church for ten years, and part of the eldership for the past three years.

Winton is married to Barbara with whom he shares a passion for good Christian literature, and a love of hiking in the Cape mountains. Their son Matthew is married to Christine,and have a grandson Samuel.

Chris Dumas

General Administration Oversight

Chris had the privilege of growing up in a Christian home and at a very young age, at a holiday club, experienced God’s call. He has grown up in the Goodwood area and has been involved with GBC since 1981.

Chris is married to Tracy, and has three children: Jade, Shaun and Cameron.

The scripture verse that gives him the greatest encouragement is 1 Corinthians 1: 8-9
“He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God, who has called you into fellowship with Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.”
