What is Sola 5?

The name of this Association is Sola 5, with the subtitle “An Asso­ciation of God-centred Evan­gelicals in Southern Africa.” Our name reflects our commitment to the biblical doctrines of the Refor­mation, encapsulated in the “five solas”: Sola Scriptura (Scripture alone), Solus Christus (Christ alone), Sola Gratia (by grace alone), Sola Fide (by faith alone) and Soli Deo Gloria (glory to God alone).

The purpose of the Association is to glorify God by: establishing a God-centred, Christ-focused and Scripture-based witness; uniting and promoting fellowship among local churches and individual Christians in southern Africa who have a passion for such a witness; supporting and encouraging local churches and individual believers as they live out this witness in their own immediate spheres of influence; facilitating cooperation in projects which will promote the above aims in southern Africa and elsewhere; nurturing the formation of local churches with these values where no such local church exists.

Sola 5 stands on three pillars: The Sola 5 Confession of Faith, The Sola 5 Core Values and The Sola 5 Constitution.
